As often as possible we like to hit a new or established cocktail bar and enjoy a few traditional or contemporary cocktails. While food is mentioned I concentrate on the atmosphere and of course the quality of the cocktails for the cocktail bar reviews.

At least 3 cocktails gives you a good idea of a venues cocktail list. But if you’ve had just one great cocktail somewhere cool recently and would like to add your bar review just email it to us and we’ll let you know when it’s posted. New website contributors welcome.

Fredas cocktail bar review

Diablo at Fredas

Arriving briskly on my pushy, with a few Rhys Jones Whiskey Crushes under my belt, just consumed at the Cricketers ‘cocktail’ bar i was certainly in the mood for a few more.

Yes, I nodded, as I brushed passed the doorman, another Rhys, who questioned ’are you meeting friends?’ in a friendly but controlled fashion discerning the who’s . . . → Read More: Fredas cocktail bar review

Grandma’s – Cocktail Bar reveiw

Knickerbocker and Barons Samedis Brew at Grandmas

Peaking through the street level widow on approach, the warm confines of the small bar looked busy for a Wednesday night, but not packed. Mind, the only thing alluding to the presence of a bar was the small licensing sign above a stair well in a sanitary corridor sneaking off Clarence st. But from the . . . → Read More: Grandma’s – Cocktail Bar reveiw

Pisco Sour at El Bulli, Surry Hills

Arriving at the just opened new El Bulli bar and restaurant on Elizabeth St, corner of Goodlet St. Surry Hills, the hive of activity, live flamenco and Latino staff was immediately impressive yet comfortable and welcoming. Darlie Laundromatic: mixed drink review

Darlie Laundromatic Darlinghurst

Popping in for D&D’s Beat Kitchen a vinyl only soiree, featuring wax hand picked by my good mates HAHA Troubadors Dean Dixon & Dave Fernandes, I was instantly impressed by this new Sydney small bar. Lo Fi (Collective) Cocktail Bar review

Martinez

Martinez – inspired the Martini

Heading to Lo Fi collective for several reasons, the promise of free Asahis was high on the list, the cycle track got us there in no time. But we were very politely turned away thanks to girls with no I.D. After some discussion amongst ourselves just the 2 of us head . . . → Read More: Lo Fi (Collective) Cocktail Bar review

Hugos Lounge Cocktail Bar review – ‘Your head is on fire!’

Theres another reason Hugos Lounge has 3 staff in the upcoming cocktail competitions, not just as they’re the ‘in’ place.

Just here for a good time on a Sunday arvo to celebrate a birthday, the half price pizzas and cocktails were also a draw card. Straight into the cocktails perhaps our slightly rowdy bunch, headed . . . → Read More: Hugos Lounge Cocktail Bar review – ‘Your head is on fire!’

Porteno Cocktail Bar review

Porteno

Arriving late due to a Mobile Cocktail Bar job executed with great success at the glasshouse in Pyrmont, me and the boys were thirsty for some down time. Owl House Cocktail Bar review

Owl House-Earnst woud have loved it-flaming cocktail

Thanks to the new bike tracks we were safely in Darlinghurst in minutes from Surry Hills but struggled to find a ‘park’ as there are bikes attached to every tree, all spots outside the gym taken but shortly we’ve got spot.

No bartender for a minute or so but well acknowledged and served when it . . . → Read More: Owl House Cocktail Bar review

New on the Surry scene, this cocktail bar and restaurant have mixed classic South American drinks from amazing cocktails, beer and wine to food and desserts, with the contemporary setting of a modern Sydney bar.
