Last weekends events included a corporate mocktail class, a whiskey tasting for office staff and rounds of cocktails for a 30th birthday.
KCC needed to break up the day of in-house training and the team was pleasantly surprised when presented with the chance to make and name their own mocktail before sitting down, drink in hand, to continue the afternoons briefing.
Sydney Symphony contacted us at last minute to put together a whiskey tasting in conjunction with the Edinburgh festival. Two Irish and 2 Scotch whiskeys were chosen and the staff had a great time learning and appreciating them with haggis and pickles.
Rounds of lychee martinis, caipiroskas and cosmopolitans stylishly presented by one of our cocktail bartenders complimented the 30th birthday canapés and champagne at a sweet little terrace in Paddington, Sydney.

Does anyone know whats the difference please between fizzy wine & champagne – are they the same thing or not?
Also can anyone suggest a good brand of champagne/fizzy wine that isn’t too expensive?
It’s my cousins wedding soon and I’m responsible for buying the drinks for toasting the happy couple.
Cheers,
Sammie
Champagne is ‘appellation controlee’ which means that it can only come from the area of Champagne (some other mostly special alcohols are appellation controlee for other regions). Anything else is ‘fizzy wine’ or ‘bubbles’ but can be just as good especially if made using the ‘Méthode Traditionelle’.
A great low end Méthode Traditionelle Champagne is Grandin. I found a good quick review here: http://www.winestar.com.au/prod829.htm
I hope the wedding goes well, I’m sure you’ll sparkle some conversation with your ‘champagne’ choice!
